Investigators say they have identified the body of a woman whose remains washed up near Portland Head Light at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth.

The woman is Sari Carlson, 52, of Portland.

“The cause and manner of death remain pending,” Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said.
“There is no risk to the public. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death. No further details are available at this time.”

Carlson’s body was discovered the afternoon of March 13. Investigators had sought the public’s health in uncovering her identity.
