Three people are facing charges connected to a robbery in Corinth on Monday, the Maine Department of Public Safety announced.
An elderly woman called 911 shortly before 4 p.m. to report that her home on McCard Road had been robbed, according to department spokesperson Shannon Moss.
A man “burst into her residence, pushed her to the floor, took her jewelry, then left in a dark colored car,” Moss stated
The victim did not know the assailant but was able to get the car’s license plate, Moss said.
A fire marshal investigator spotted the car heading north on Route 15 in Corinth and attempted to pull it over, according to Moss. However, the car instead led a pursuit through the towns of Charleston and Atkinson, ending when the car crashed at the intersection of Range and East Dover roads in Dover-Foxcroft.
Two men allegedly fled into the woods while an injured woman remained in the car, according to Moss.
Police found the two men a short time later, Moss said.
Gary Roshto, 56, of Charleston was transported to Penobscot County Jail and is charged with robbery and eluding law enforcement, Moss said.
Kevin Bowley, 35, of Lagrange was transported to a hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, Moss said. He was summonsed for robbery.
Cynthia Williams, 52, of Milo was transported to a hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening and will be summonsed at a later date, Moss said.
The victim’s jewelry was recovered from the car, according to Moss. The victim was not injured.
State police, the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department and Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident.
