HONOLULU — The University of Hawaii athletics department put out a bulletin to its fan base on Thursday evening in an effort to expedite the admissions process for those attending its arena sports.
Starting with Friday's 7 p.m. women’s volleyball match against rival Long Beach State, UH will be handing out fliers at its parking kiosks with instructions for fans how to have their tickets, either paper or digital, ready to scan at Gate A, the main entrance of SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
UH acknowledged it has experienced a trend of long outdoor lines throughout the 2022 women’s volleyball season. There are only four women’s volleyball home matches remaining, but the same issue potentially applies to the upcoming men’s and women’s basketball and men’s volleyball seasons.
UH recommends a few things to speed up the process:
- download your mobile tickets to your digital wallet before arriving on campus
- distribute tickets to each member of a party, if possible
- keep a full charge on your mobile device before arrival and turn screen brightness to high for easier scanning
- check out its digital tutorial ahead of time if unfamiliar with the digital ticket system
The university also reminded its fans of its clear bag-only policy, and that no reusable bottles like Hydro Flasks are allowed in its venues.
