HONOLULU — As of Sept. 19, Queen’s Health System announced an easing of restrictions to their network of hospitals — The Queen’s Medical Center at Punchbowl, The Queen’s Medical Center at West Oahu, Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital and Molokai General Hospital.

“We understand the important role family and friends play in the healing process for patients and look forward to welcoming visitors back,” said Jill Hoggard Green, PhD, RN, QHS president and chief executive officer in a news release. “As always, the safety of our patients, physicians and staff remains our number one priority and our hospitals will continue to implement safety protocols in compliance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards.”

New visitor guidelines are now in place at all hospitals:

  • Visiting hours are expanded at The Queen’s Medical Center at Punchbowl and Molokai General Hospital, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; The Queen’s Medical Center at West Oahu, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Only one visitor is allowed at a time, but there may be two visitors per day.

  • Each visitor is permitted one entry per day and must remain with the patient except when eating.

  • All visitors must have their temperatures checked and undergo health screening. Anyone with signs of respiratory illness, such a fever, shortness of breath or cough, will not be allowed to enter.

  • Visitors must wear a hospital-approved mask and follow physical distancing requirements.

  • Visitors must be 18 years or older.

  • Anyone who is confirmed or under investigation for COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter.
