HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Huntersville town commissioners are supporting House Bill 514, a state bill that would allow Matthews and Mint Hill to create their own charter schools.

During a vote Monday night, Mayor John Aneralla said adding Huntersville's name to the bill would help with school overcrowding and busing issues.
Cornelius is also considering supporting the bill.
We reached out to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools about the vote but did not hear back.
