ARLINGTON, Texas — Trash metal stalwarts Metallica on Monday announced a new album and upcoming tour, and the tour includes two shows in Arlington at AT&T Stadium.

The new album, “72 Seasons,” will be available on April 14, 2023.

The world tour, called “M72,” will take place over 2023 and 2024 and the band will play two nights in every city it visits. The Arlington shows are set for Aug. 18 and 20 next year.

Each night will feature a different set as well as a different opening act. The Arlington shows will start with Mammoth WVH and a reformed Pantera on the 18th, and Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills on the 20th.

Two-day tickets will be available beginning Friday, Dec. 20, and single show tickets will go on sale on Jan. 20.
