TEXAS — It’s been nearly three decades since the Queen of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla Perez, died, but she remains as popular as ever. Now, her fans could be in for a real treat in the near future.

According to her father, Abraham Quintanilla, in an interview with Latin Groove News, an album of unreleased material could be available as soon as April.

Abraham Quintanilla said the album will feature 13 songs with new arrangements by the singer’s brother, A.B. Quintanilla.

Interestingly, and perhaps controversially, one of the songs features Selena’s voice when she was 13 years old, and her brother updated it digitally to mimic its timbre when she was at the height of her popularity.

Born in Lake Jackson, Texas, in 1971, Selena performed a great deal around the state before rising to international stardom. She was killed by the president of her fan club in 1995. She was just 23 years old.
