SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Zoo’s “Drive Thru Zoo,” which was originally planned for three dates, sold out in less than two hours after it was announced on Wednesday.
- Experience will now be offered daily through May 17
- Includes a guided audio tour plus curbside food and beverage
But, fear not! The zoo has extended the offering and will now host Drive Thru Zoo daily through May 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The experience will include a guided educational audio tour plus food and beverage curbside options.
“Proceeds from this event will help fund the care of our animals through this closure. This new, creative way to see the zoo will be a gradual step towards our plan to reopen to foot traffic when we are given the 'green light' and the time is right,” said Tim Morrow, president & CEO San Antonio Zoo.
Pricing will be $60 for non-Annual Pass holders/Members per vehicle beginning May 4. Proceeds from the experience will go directly towards the care of animals during this closure.
Annual Pass Holder and Monthly Member pricing will remain $32 per vehicle at the gate. Annual Passes and Monthly Memberships can be purchased on the zoo’s website.

Since closing on March 14, San Antonio Zoo has lost a majority of its ability to generate income. The zoo is working toward recovery and is asking people to donate to the emergency fund. Donations can be made here.
