SAN ANTONIO – The 42nd Annual Cowboy Breakfast is expected draw more than 30,000 people on Friday.
San Antonio’s Cowboy Breakfast has been a tradition since 1979 and started off as an impromptu send-off for the Trail Riders heading out to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
In the years since then it has become a huge celebration for local families to unofficially kick off the rodeo season by having breakfast together.

More than 30,000 tacos will be served by hundreds of volunteers, most of them students from the culinary arts program at St. Phillip‘s College. The group that puts the cowboy breakfast together fundraises all year to raise scholarship money for those students.
Here are the details you need if you plan on attending:
- Time/Location – 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Cowboys Dancehall
- Music – There will be live music starting at 5:15 a.m.
- Food – Tacos, biscuits, tamales, rolls and more!
- Travel -- Free Shuttle Parking from Santikos Rialto Cinema on Loop 410
This event is free and open to the public.
