BOERNE, Texas – Officer Michele Van Stavern of the Boerne Police Department is making a steady recovery after being hit by car over the weekend.

According to the Boerne Police Department Facebook page, Stavern suffered a deep head laceration, a deep laceration to her left arm, a fractured right wrist, along with some broken ribs. The post also mentioned she is eager to get back to work.

 

 

The department held a prayer service on Sunday and a special procession welcoming her back home on Wednesday, where community members lined the streets to welcome her back from the hospital.

Those who are looking to help are encouraged to donate to the Boerne Police Foundation, which is a nonprofit that helps facilitate money and recourses to benefit law enforcement and their families.
