SAN ANTONIO – Gina Ortiz Jones announced Tuesday she will be running against Rep. Will Hurd for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District in 2020, after conceding in November 2018.

She announced her candidacy on Twitter, highlighting her close loss of 926 votes last year.
On Wednesday, her campaign announced she had raised over $100,00 in first day of campaigning.

Over the past 14 years, Jones has built a career in national security, with a particular focus on defense intelligence and economic security. This includes serving as the director for investment at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative under President Barack Obama.
