What started as a digital landscape of art is now going to be in-person, as the Whataburger Museum of Art (WMOA) will debut at Wanderlust Wine Co. in downtown Austin during SXSW.

WMOA began in 2021 and was originally an online community of artists that contributed paintings, sculptures, digital works and more to the online platform on Instagram, @/thewmoa.

The physical exhibit will be around only for a limited time and will showcase more than 200 pieces of original artwork—with a Whataburger twist, of course. It will also feature interactive segments for the visitors throughout. This includes the Whataburger Day Dot Room, a blank room where visitors can decorate it with the iconic stickers; the Table Tent Mugshot Wall, a space to collect table tents and snap a photo with the one of a kind Whataburger 75th Anniversary + SXSW table tent; and the 3D Art and Digital Displays, which is a mix of the showcased art pieces.

“The exhibit pays homage to 75 years of goodness, and there’s no better way to recognize our community’s passion than by showcasing these customer masterpieces,” said Whatburger President and CEO Debbie Stroud, according to Whataburger’s website

The experience is open to the public on March 8 and March 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On March 8, a Whataburger food truck will be available to visitors to taste the limited-edition Monterey Melt sandwich.
