AUSTIN, Texas — Starting Feb. 14, the Austin Marathon will cause road closures citywide.

The Austin marathon, half marathon and 5K will start at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

Race day is Feb. 16, but packet pickups for the event start on Feb. 14 and will see E. 9th St between Congress Ave and Brazos St closed starting at 9 a.m.

Starting Friday at 4 p.m., Congress Ave (7th-11th St.) and 8th-10th streets (Brazos-Colorado) will be closed.

On Saturday, Congress Ave. between Cesar Chavez St. and 11th St. will be closed off starting at 4 a.m.

Race day will see Congress Ave between Riverside Dr & Ben White closed from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., Westbound Ben White Frontage Road between Congress Ave & 1st St from 5 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., 1st St Bridge between Riverside Dr to Cesar Chavez from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., Congress Ave Bridge between Riverside Dr to Cesar Chavez from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.

All streets will reopen at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Runners are encouraged to park downtown or at the Palmer Events Center.
