DALLAS — The Lone Star State has long been known for its unique food scene, and in 2025, a few Texas restaurants are being recognized as some of the best places to eat in America.

Every year, Yelp releases its list of the top 100 best restaurants in the country, at least according to its users. This year, nine Texas restaurants made the cut. 

The Dallas-Fort Worth area dominated the list, with five of the nine Texas restaurants being either in the city of Dallas or in the nearby suburbs. The only other Texas metro to have multiple restaurants on the list was Austin with two, while San Antonio and Houston each had one spot.

While no Texas restaurant made the top 10, one made the top 25. Squeaking in at No. 25 was Tatsumi Sushi in Austin. The sushi bar boasts a 4.7-star rating on Yelp with 560 reviews. 

The next Texas restaurant to make the list was another sushi restaurant, EBESU Robata & Sushi in Plano. It came in at No. 32 and also had a 4.7-star rating. 

Staying in North Texas, Mike’s Chicken in Dallas was next on the list at No. 51. The popular chicken shop has a 4.5-star rating with over 1,800 reviews. 

Houston gastropub Southern Yankee Crafthouse was only a little further down on the list at No. 59. It also has 4.5 stars.

Jumping down the list to No. 75, Yorienn Korean Fried Chicken of Carrollton, Texas, has 4.6 stars and 157 reviews. 

Only about a 30-minute drive away is the next restaurant to make the list–The Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque in Trophy Club, Texas, another Dallas suburb. The self-proclaimed “Legendary BBQ” joint has 4.5 stars and 396 reviews on Yelp. 

Traveling into the city of Dallas, The Mayor’s House by Selda came in at No. 87. The Mediterranean restaurant has 4.6 stars and 145 reviews.

The final two Texas restaurants making the list are The Art of Donut in San Antonio and Takara Sushi & Asian Bistro in Cedar Park–coming in at 96th and 97th, respectively.
