TEXAS — The Food and Drug Administration has recalled many products containing queso fresco and cotija cheeses. The recalled list is due to a listeria outbreak.

The recalled list includes products from H-E-B, Trader Joes and Whole Foods. The H-E-B products were originally recalled on Feb. 7.

Some of the products include:

  • H-E-B’s Poblano Caesar Dressing in 12 oz bottles that have either a sell or use by date between Jan. 14 to March 30, 2024
  • H-E-B’S Cilantro Cotija Dressing in 12 oz bottles that have either a sell or use by date between Jan. 14 to March 30, 2024
  • 365 Whole Foods Market’s Ricotta Part Skim in 15 oz. packaging for all dates through April 2, 2024
  • 365 Whole Foods Market’s Ricotta Whole Milk in 15 oz. packaging for all dates through April 2, 2024
  • Trader Joe’s Cilantro Dressing in 12 oz with either sell or use by date of Feb. 19 to May 14, 2024
  • Trader Joe’s Cilantro Salad Dressing in 12 oz kits. No sell or use by dates were provided
  • Trader Joe’s Elote Chopped Salad Kit in 11.94 oz kits. No sell or use by dates were provided
  • Trader Joe’s Southwest Salad in 9 oz packaging. No sell or use by dates were provided

The brand names that are being recalled include: Campesino, Casa Cardenas, Don Francisco, Don Pancho, Dos Ranchitos, El Huache, Food City, H-E-B, La Ordena, Rio Grande, Rizo Bros, Rojos, San Carlos, Santa Maria, Tio Francisco, Trader Joe’s and 365 Whole Foods Market.

In Texas, two cases are linked to the ongoing investigation. Typically, symptoms begin within two weeks of consuming listeria-contaminated food, but they can appear as early as the same day or as late as 10 weeks later.
