AUSTIN, Texas — The wait is finally over as Austin gears up to welcome back a cherished holiday staple this weekend. The first two shows of the Ballet Austin production of "The Nutcracker" are scheduled to open on Dec. 2. You can enjoy the show for three weeks, with its last performance scheduled for Dec. 23.

Ballet Austin is among the largest classical ballet companies in the nation. This will be the 61st annual production of "The Nutcracker." It remains Austin's longest-running live production.

This seasonal favorite brings thousands of people across Texas to the Capital City to enjoy. The heart-warming story of young Clara and her nutcracker keeps audiences engaged with each year's elaborate set designs, eye-catching costumes, classic choreography, and live orchestra accompaniment. The ballet company will do 15 public performances of the show.
