TEXAS — American rock band Green Day is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their hit “American Idiot” with their 2024 tour, featuring two stops in Texas. The punk rockers play on Sept. 10 at the Germania Insurance Ampitheater in Austin, and on Sept. 11 they’ll be at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
The group embarks on a six-month European stint starting in November and arrives in the U.S. in July 2024. For the North American leg of the tour, The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas take the stage as openers. However, The Smashing Pumpkins will not play the Germania Insurance Ampitheater in Austin.
Green Day released two singles off their upcoming album “Saviors” with the announcement of the tour. The new album comes out Jan. 19, 2024, and is “an invitation into Green Day’s brain,” according to their YouTube.
Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. General admission lawn seating starts at $42.50 before fees and taxes.
