AUSTIN, Texas — Brittney Spencer and Alanis Morissette will record performances for season 49 of the longest running music series on TV. Both artists will perform at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, with Spencer marking the commencement of the ACL Music Festival this Thursday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m.

Headliner Alanis Morissette will record her set on Friday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. and will take the American Express stage at Zilker Park both weekends of the festival at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The ACL tapings started in 1974, with local legend Willie Nelson recording the pilot episode for what became the leading program in music innovation. Season 49 of the tapings will launch this Saturday, Oct. 7 and features the Foo Fighters, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Bonnie Raitt, Jenny Lewis, MUNA and many more still to be announced.

There’s a high demand to attend these one-of-a-kind performances, so ACL Live will raffle off the tickets on their website.
