TEXAS — Think green and save the planet. Celebrate Earth Day this weekend throughout the Lone Star State by picking up trash, learning more about conservation or planting a tree. Here is a list of a couple events you can check out.

AUSTIN

Huston-Tillotson University will be hosting Earth Day ATX Festival from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday April 22. There will be various panels, speakers and performances for families and friend to enjoy throughout the day. The zero waste event will provide opportunities for festivalgoers to lower their carbon footprint and learn more about conservation and recycling. There will be food booths as well as a kid zone with many activities and games.

The Trail Conservancy will be hosting its first Earth Day Jubilee at International Shores from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free to all. There will be food trucks, workshops, Earth-friendly makers and vendors and live music.

The LBJ Library will be hosting its Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., featuring its exhibit on Dr. Seuss’s "The Lorax," with the original prints from the book. Admission and parking is free.

St. Elmo is hosting its very first planting party on Saturday. Tools and supplies will be provided to plant trees in the brewery’s new side yard. Complimentary beers and Hop Water will be available to all participants.

DALLAS

Dallas is hosting the annual largest green gathering in the world at EarthX Expo. The expo runs from Friday, April 21 through Sunday, April 23. There will be live music, art, food and different exhibits at Fair Park for participants to enjoy. The expo is free.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is hosting an Earth Day Market on Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will be selling locally made, Earth friendly and sustainable goods.

For those looking to volunteer, Bonton Farms is hosting a Serve and Social event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Those attending will be able to garden, harvest and tend to the animals on the farm. Supplies will be provided but people are encouraged to bring their own gloves.

SAN ANTONIO

San Antonio Parks and Recreation is celebrating Earth Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Lake Park. There will be hands-on family activities, free tree adoptions, dance and musical performances and environmental organizations present. Additionally, there will be a yoga class and food vendors.

Join others at the Guadalupe River for an Earth Day river cleanup. Sponsored by Watertight Cocktail Co, Rambler Sparkling Water and a few others, the event kicks off at 10 a.m. at Rockin’ Rs Gruene Light Bar. Participants will hit the river to pick up litter. Tubes, rafts, paddleboards and mesh trash bags will be provided.
