AUSTIN, Texas — Austin ISD has put forth a challenge in celebration of National Farm to School Month that places Texas’ agriculture in the forefront. The district urges elementary students of Austin ISD to show off their creativity in depicting an artistic take on the production and distribution of local foods.
The Austin ISD Food Service and the Texas Department of Agriculture posed the Farm Fresh Challenge on Oct. 1 with the theme of Texas agriculture, including fresh fruits, vegetables or other foods produced in the state.
The contest runs throughout October. Austin Food Service has posted a list of requirements for acceptable artwork, so please be sure to follow carefully to avoid penalization.
They will award the three top winners with a prize pack. Austin ISD Food Service will also give these art pieces some social media shine. They have plans to display the winning artwork in local cafes later in the school year, too.
