AUSTIN, Texas — After 38 years in business, Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds announced it will close its doors.

The announcement posted on the business's social media pages said the store will close at the end of this year. As of Aug. 31, the store will switch to a “purchase only” model, and it will stop rentals as of Aug 30.

"We've loved being a source of creativity and inspiration for your parties, plays and productions. It has been a pleasure to fulfill your costuming dreams and fantasies. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts," the post reads.

The post went on to say they are looking forward to having one last Halloween with the community.

Lucy in Disguise was opened in 1984 by owner Jenna Radtke and is a year-round costume shop rental location. It's been an Austin staple on South Congress for years. In the social post, the owners thanked the Austin community for supporting the store throughout the years.
