AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Resource Recovery (ARR) is resuming its large brush and bulk collection Monday, May 2, after a temporary hiatus of the service due to staffing shortages.

Staffing shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic were caused by redistributing drivers to essential services such as recycling, trash and compost.

While the issue has not been fully resolved, ARR is working with a contractor to bring back its services to customers.

The first customers to be served will be those on curbside who missed a collection during the suspension. Residents will receive a notification postcard in the mail to know when the next collection will be.

For those not interested in curbside collection, they can continue dropping off large brushes at Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant and bulk items at Clothing and Housewares program.

If you are interested in driving and working for ARR, call 512-974-1980 or apply here.
