AUSTIN, Texas — The 30th Ascension Seton Austin Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K are set for Sunday, Feb. 20.

This marathon is the 25th largest marathon in the United States and will bring in over 75,000 visitors to the Health and Fitness Expo. There will be 17,000 runners and live coverage.

The marathon starts at 7 a.m. and starts at 200 Congress Ave. in downtown Austin. The marathon course closes at 2 p.m. and the half marathon closes at 11:30 a.m.

Runners will traverse iconic Austin landmarks including the UT Tower, the “I love you so much” mural and Lady Bird Lake. They will pass through neighborhoods such as South Congress and Hyde Park and finish in front of the Texas Capitol.

Road closures begin Friday, Feb. 18. Follow the traffic guide and plan your travel accordingly.

Runners have to pick up their race packets at the Palmer Event Center before race day and can get them Friday from 1-7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 5p.m.

You must present proof of vaccination or a negative test within the last 72 hours in order to receive your packet. Masks are not required while you run.

The Moody Foundation hosts the Austin Marathon Gives connects runners to nonprofits so that they may participate and raise money for charity at the same time.

Registration is still open through the event or until it sells out in case you want to sign up and partake in the annual marathon.
