AUSTIN, Texas — As cases of COVID-19 continue to increase throughout the continue country, the University of Texas at Austin is requiring all students to show a negative COVID test 72 hours prior to returning to campus. Results must be uploaded to MyUHS.
Students who live in Austin must test negative 72 hours before moving into their residences. Those who are already moved into their residence for the school year must test 72 hours prior to the start of school on Aug. 25.
The school emphasizes it is important for students and staff to report all symptoms and testing regardless of results.
All students, faculty and staff are to use the Protect Texas Together app daily before arriving on campus for daily symptom screening.
The university is asking everyone to limit contact with others outside the institution before school starts.
Most of the classes for the 2021-2022 year will be held in person as of now. Masks are strongly encouraged to be worn indoors.
