AUSTIN, Texas — A second person has been arrested in connection with the June 12 shooting in downtown Austin that left one person dead and 13 injured.
The Austin Police Department said 17-year-old Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb was arrested in Killeen, Texas, an hour north of Austin. He is being treated as an adult and is charged with aggravated assault. Another suspect was taken into custody over the weekend.
The shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Interim Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon said it appears a fight between two groups of people sparked the shooting.
APD said one of the victims, 25-year-old Douglas Kantor, died at a local hospital Sunday around noon.
