TEXAS — Four Electric Reliability Council of Texas board members have resigned, according to a filing from the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
The filing says the resignation of ERCOT’s Chairman Sally Talberg, Vice Chairman Peter Cramton, Finance and Audit Committee Chairman Terry Bulger and Human Resources and Governance Committee Chairman Raymond Heppe is effective Wednesday, February 24.
Craig S. Ivey also withdrew his application as an unaffiliated director candidate.
This comes a week after Texas suffered an unprecendented winter storm. ERCOT manages Texas’ power grid and mandated rolling blackouts last week during the winter storm that left millions of Texans without power for several days.
A lawsuit against ERCOT was also filed on Friday.
In a statement, Gov. Greg Abbott said he welcomes the resignation of four ERCOT board members.
“ERCOT leadership made assurances that Texas’ power infrastructure was prepared for the winter storm, but those assurances proved to be devastatingly false,” he said.
