TEXAS – After previously announcing pharmacies would begin distributing the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, CVS Health says it has had to push back to Friday.

According to a news release, the pharmacy chain is looking to make sure the vaccines are in stores by February 12.

The company originally said it would be distributing to 11 states, including 70 Texas locations.

CVS’s website says as of Wednesday it is already distributing the vaccine in Arkansas, Connecticut, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Those who are eligible to receive the vaccine are asked to schedule an appointment on the CVD Health website beginning February 11; a direct link to the sign-up portal is not yet available.

Those without internet can call customer service at 1-800-746-7287. The public is asked not to call individual pharmacies about vaccine availability.
