STINNETT, Texas — A West Texas police chief is on administrative leave Tuesday while the City of Stinnett investigates him for possible violations of the City’s employment policy.
According to a statement from Stinnett City Manager Durk Downs, the City “is aware of the current situation surrounding Chief of Police Jason Collier” and is taking the matter very seriously.
This comes a day after a woman made a post on Facebook alleging she and Collier had an affair.
According to Downs, per city policy, he is prohibited from commenting on any personal issues of personnel in a public forum.
Collier was named Stinnett police chief in February 2020. Stinnett is a town in the Texas Panhandle 60 miles north of Amarillo, Texas.
