AUSTIN, Texas — A winter storm passing through Central Texas has prompted Austin Emergency Management to open cold weather shelters on Sunday night.
According to the Twitter post, single adults can access shelter at the Central Library (710 W Cesar Chavez) between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Families who need shelter will have access at the Downtown Salvation Army Shelter (501 E. 8th Street) starting at 6 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to hover around freezing (32 degrees) through Sunday night in Austin.
