BASTROP COUNTY, Texas – The Gas Station is located right off Highway 304 in Bastrop County and was featured in the 1974 film Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

"The first 15 minutes of the movie they roll up in a green van right here, right where we’re standing," said owner Lisa Rose.

Rose and her husband bought the place a few years ago.

"This was my husband’s favorite movie since he was 10 years old," she said. "It took us about two years to get it to get it to look beautiful like this again, like the movie."

It’s complete with an exact copy of the rooftop sign and the green van, similar make and model.

Inside there’s a retail shop showcasing a who’s-who of horror. There’s a plush Freddie Krueger and a doll from The Exorcist for sale.

"We have T-shits, we have posters, we have masks,” Rose said. "We have autographs that we sell."

And it wouldn’t be an authentic Texas gas station without barbecue—it’s all prepared on the pit outside.

After you've had your fill, why not stay the night? There are four cabins to choose from but no chainsaws allowed.

"This one has a king-sized bed and pull out twin couch. We have two cabins like that," Rose said.

So whether you're a Texas Chain Saw fan or just looking for some good barbecue and a bed, you’ll find it at The Gas Station--where they’re waiting for you!
