TEXAS  — Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision to further loosen restrictions for some businesses across most of the state is getting mixed reactions from both sides.

Thursday, the governor announced restaurants, retail stores, office buildings, gyms and libraries can expand their capacity from 50 to 75 percent starting Monday. That's as long as they're in one of the state's hospital regions where coronavirus patients make up less than 15 percent of hospitalizations.

Patrick Svitek of the Texas Tribune and James Barragán of the Dallas Morning News joined Capital Tonight anchor Karina Kling to discuss the politics surrounding the governor’s reopening plan and how the pandemic has affected campaigning as the November elections inch closer.
