AUSTIN, Texas – Another iconic Austin business is permanently closing its doors.

According to a social media post, I Luv Video is closing after 36 years of business in the capital city.

The store rented, sold, purchased, and traded all things movies including toys, DVDs, and even VHS tapes.

The two-story building housed over 100,000 movies, according to the store owners.

There is still hope, though, that the collection will remain available to the public.

“If would bring me the utmost joy to pass the torch to a group or individual that has the financial capacity to reserve out immense catalog of films,” read a Facebook post from owner Conrad Bejarano. “My only stipulation is that whomever does so give the community access to our vast video library.”

This is the second long-running video store to close in Austin during the course of the pandemic.

In April, Vulcan Video closed permanently after 35 years in business.
