AUSTIN, Texas — There’s some relief coming to renters in Travis County who are unable to pay rent because of the pandemic.  

Travis County Judge Sam Biscoe extended the order that says courts cannot hold eviction proceedings and landlords cannot issue a tenant a document called a notice to vacate through September 30. 

Austin has a similar moratorium in place that is set to run through July 25.

If anyone violates the order, they could face a $1000 fine.
