AUSTIN, Texas – A new way to catch a movie is coming to the city of Austin in September.

Floating Cinema, hosted by the Beyond Cinema company, will be offering the unique experience from Wednesday, September 23 to Sunday, September 27.

The cinema will be made up of 12 to 24 mini boats, holding up to eight people per boat. Tickets will require customers to purchase an entire boat to ensure groups will be seated with friends and family only, and to allow for social distancing on and between boats.

Movies are set to be a mix of golden oldies and new releases but full details won’t be announced until tickets go on sale. There will be free popcorn for attendees, and other movie snacks and drinks will be available to purchase.
