AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas at Austin has released its final plans for the Fall 2020 semester, and several safety measures will be implemented due to COVID-19.

What You Need To Know

  • Classes will begin August 26

  • In-person instruction will end November 25

  • Final exams will be held online December 7 through the 16.

The Fall 2020 semester will start August 26. In-person instruction will end November 25, the day before Thanksgiving, to lessen the risk of spread that comes with traveling and returning. Most students will remain away from campus for the remainder of the semester, and take final exams online December 7 through 16. Only 40 percent of the class will be occupied to maintain social distancing. Classes can be in person, online or a combination of both.

Wearing cloth masks at all times when inside UT buildings will be mandatory except when alone in a private office, eating in a campus dining facility, or in your own residence hall. Wearing cloth masks outdoors will be encouraged.
