In a Facebook post on June 20, the Alice Pediatric Clinic said residents should try and avoid the San Antonio area if possible but if travel cannot be avoided, they are advised to use “extreme caution.”

The post goes on to encourage those that do go to the area to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and avoid crowded indoor spaces whenever possible.

“Please inform family or friends if you do plan or did travel to high risk area so that you do not disrupt their bubble of protection on your return back home,” the post said.

On Tuesday, the city of San Antonio saw 311 new daily coronavirus cases for a total of 7,467. The city also recently hit the grim milestone of 100 deaths from the virus.

As of this writing, neither the City of Alice nor the surrounding Jim Wells County have issued official travel advisories against traveling to San Antonio.

The City of Alice did, however, issue a travel advisory for the Houston and Galveston areas on June 12. That warning strongly encouraged Alice residents to self-quarantine for 14 days after returning from those areas and to get tested for the novel coronavirus if possible.
