AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Mayor Steve Adler is once again extending the City’s stay-at-home order.

The latest order is in effect until August 15. This comes on the heels of Austin entering Stage 4 on Austin Public Health’s risk-based chart because the seven-day average number of hospitalizations has hit more than 20 people per day.

Residents should wear a mask when going outside and avoid places where people aren't wearing masks. The new orders encourage businesses to require social distancing and face coverings while in Stage 4.

Residents are encouraged to fill out the public enrollment testing form on the city’s website to see if they're eligible for a free COVID-19 test. If you are approved for free testing, you can schedule an appointment at a drive-thru testing site. To learn more about how to take the self-assessment watch this quick guide.
