AUSTIN, Texas -- Haley Aubert has been coming to Plates on Plates Fitness for more than three years. Her workouts are a part of her routine.
What You Need To Know
- Gyms closed in March due to stay-at-home order
- Gyms have slowly starting reopening with social distancing measures in place
- Some say working out at home can't compete with gym experience
“It makes my day better, makes my life better,” Aubert says.
That routine was interrupted when gyms across the state were shut down back in March.
‘I thought I was staying in such good shape at home and then you get here and go no, I lost a lot of strength,” Aubert added.

That was a big reason that when her gym opened back up recently, she was eager to return to her routine of working out.
“The second they were opening I was like, yes, I’m there,” Aubert says.
Plates on Plates Fitness, like gyms all over, has taken many precautions to keep members safe as they return to working out. They have designated specific areas for members to keep safe distance and there is a thorough cleaning of the equipment after each use. All done in hopes of remaining open and keeping members like Aubert coming back in.
