UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the Air Force has delated the Austin and San Antonio flyovers by one hour on Wednesday. The Austin flyover will now start at 3:40 p.m. and the San Antonio flyover will start at 2:20 p.m.

AUSTIN, Texas — The United States Air Force’s Thunderbirds have released the flight paths for the Austin and San Antonio flyovers scheduled for Wednesday. 

The flyovers are a salute to health care workers, first responders, military, and other essential personnel while standing in solidarity with all Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are honored to extend our gratitude to Texans in San Antonio and Austin who have been working hard to keep their communities safe,” said Lt. Col. John Caldwell, Thunderbirds commander and leader. “We want Texans to look up to see the display of American resolve and know that the American spirit will prevail beyond this difficult time in our nation.”

The San Antonio flyover will start at 1:20 p.m. and last approximately 30 minutes. The Austin flyover will start at 2:40 p.m. and last approximately 25 minutes.

The formation flights date and times are subject to change due to weather and operational requirements.

The event was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but due to inclement weather, it was postponed to Wednesday.
