Creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda Tuesday announced the filmed version of his award-winning Broadway musical "Hamilton" will now arrive on Disney+ on July 3.
The film had originally been slated for release in theaters in October 2021. This particular performance was shot just weeks prior to the departure of the original cast.
The musical tells the story of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and incorporates hip hop, soul, pop and traditional show tunes.
“Hamilton” in 2016 won 11 Tony Awards, including for Best Musical, and additionally won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for drama.
