AUSTIN, Texas — South by Southwest (SXSW) 2020 is canceled due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
By March 6, many companies and keynote speakers had already pulled out of SXSW as a safety precaution:

According to Variety, WarnerMedia said it's best for the company not to move forward with activations at SXSW.
Amazon Studios
The studio told Variety that the two screenings and panels for Tales of the Loop and Upload, and a consumer marketing activation, have been canceled.
TikTok
TikTok told Rolling Stone that it dropped out of SXSW this year because it is erring on the side of caution and prioritizing safety.
Mashable
Mashable has canceled the Mashable House and MashBash at SXSW.
Intel
Intel told Ad Age that it has withdrawn from onsite SXSW activities this year.
A Facebook spokesperson told CNN Business that Facebook and its employees will not be participating in SXSW this year.
Twitter announced that it is suspending all non-critical business travel.
Vevo
Vevo told Ad Age that it canceled its annual event at SXSW due to the unknowns relating to coronavirus
China Gathering
According to China Gaterhing’s website, the group is suspending its SXSW events this year. Some of the planned events were a music showcase, reception and trade show exhibition.
