TEXAS — Jason Dasilva is a documentary filmmaker whose film “When We Walk” sheds an important light on issues surrounding access to care in Texas. After the mother of his son Jase moved to Texas, the New York based filmmaker was forced to take a hard look at the programs available to him in the Lone Star State.

What he found was that the services available to him in New York were dramatically different than those available in Texas. His film highlights the journey and the frustrations with finding the help he needs to live near his young son.

In the video above, Dasilva speaks with Jordan Hicks about the film.
