WEST LAKE HILLS, Texas — On any given day, there could be more than two dozen crew members hard at work on the future West Harbour Marina on Westlake Drive.

  • Property along Lake Austin is getting an overhaul
  • Old marina was built back in the 1950s
  • “We've been out here since July,” said William Shane of Lake Services, Inc.

It’s all part of the work to give the property along Lake Austin a long overdue facelift.

“The old marina was built back in the ‘50s, we demoed the old marina and started driving pilings for the new one,” said Shane.

Shane and his crew are working on the marina while separate crews work on condominiums on site.

“The marina is gonna be separate from the condos the slips will actually be for sale and its gonna be the nicest thing on Lake Austin,” he said.

For Shane's crew, this is one of their biggest projects on Lake Austin.

“We used a big crane to put all the red iron — the big red iron in,” he said.

The completion deadline for the marina is this spring, just in time for boating season. Meanwhile, Shane has crews working on multiple projects in and around the Highland Lakes.

“We’re still on Lake Travis, we have a crew that runs on Lake Travis full time adjusting all of our clients docks and doing anything that comes up. So we stay busy on both Lake Travis and Lake Austin pretty constantly,” said Shane.

The projects are an indicator that growth isn't slowing down any time soon.
