TEXAS — With celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Oprah Winfrey joining the fight to save death row inmate Rodney Reed's life, his case is quickly gaining national attention — and a lot of attention here at home.

Lawmakers from both sides and protestors continue calling on Governor Abbott to stop Reed's execution date — set for next Wednesday.

That includes a group of more than a dozen current and former law enforcement officers who filed a brief to the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of Reed.
