AUSTIN, Texas – More than a year and a half after closing its original food truck, Torchy’s Tacos is closing their first dine-in restaurant.

Torchy’s Tacos first opened in 2006 as a taco truck. Since then, it has restaurants across Texas and the Midwestern United States.
In a news release issued Tuesday, the chain sited accessibility concerns as one of the main reasons for closing the South First Street location.

The restaurant currently has very limited parking options compared to other Torchy’s locations in Austin.
The property where the restaurant is currently located is being evaluated for possible uses in the future. All staff were offered jobs at other Austin restaurant locations.
The last day you can get your taco fix at this location will be October 22.
