AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin City Limits Music Festival kicks off this weekend and there are a few things you should know as you’re navigating getting to and from the festival grounds.
- Weekend one kicks off Friday, October 4
- Festival runs two weekends
- Many passes are sold out
During festival weekends, there are several roadways closed off to vehicles for the safety of pedestrians trying to get in and out of the festival. That includes a large portion of Barton Springs Road.

There will be a free shuttle going back and forth from Republic Square to Zilker Park during both weekends. The City of Austin recommends taking public transportation to Republic Square and then riding on a shuttle to the festival.
Additionally, there will be bus routes that will take you directly to Zilker park. Click here to see more information about CapMetro bus routes.
Bicycles are also welcome getting to and from the festival. There are designated areas you can park bikes as well as paths they can ride on by clicking here.
Scooters and other rental transportation are an additional option. They also have designated spots where you can drop them off but know they are not allowed on the bike trails.
The city adds these devices will be moved throughout the day to prevent them from causing congestion and they will not be available at the drop-off locations at the end of festival evenings.
If you are taking a ride share vehicle or a taxi, the drop off/pick-up locations are located at Wallingwood Drive, Lee Barton Drive or Veterans Drive.
