AUSTIN, Texas -- A Travis County inmate died at a hospital after being found unresponsive in his cell last week.

The Travis County Sheriff’s office said Tyler Grist, 28, died at Dell Seton Medical Center on Friday, September 6.
Girst was found unresponsive, but breathing in his cell on Saturday, August 31. He was immediately taken to the prison medical clinic before being transported by EMS to the hospital. He stayed in the Intensive Care Unit for several days up until his death on September 6.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs Unit, the Texas Rangers, and the Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating. An autopsy was conducted on Sunday, September 8 and the final report is pending toxicology results.
