AUSTIN, Texas — Austin leaders will soon reveal new plans for a shake-up near Lady Bird Lake and the public is being asked for input.

The Drake Bridge Commons Project will transform the area under the 1st Street Bridge and eventually connect downtown to the Butler Trail and Lady Bird Lake.
The Trail Foundation and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department are presenting the city’s vision for the space on Saturday. The presentation will include art activities, music, and food.
The public’s feedback will help determine the next phases of the Drake Bridge Commons Project. The space will incorporate three themes: equitable access, ecological imagination, and irresistible attraction.
The presentation takes place Saturday, August 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. under the Drake Bridge at the north side of Lady Bird Lake.
