AUSTIN, Texas — Spectrum employees delivered 300 full backpacks-worth of supplies to an Austin elementary school Thursday.

  • More than 300 full backpacks-worth of supplies donated
  • More than 20,000 items collected
  • Items given to Guerrero Thompson Elementary

Over the last several weeks, multiple Spectrum departments partnered for a school supply drive for Guerrero Thompson Elementary. The company collected over 20,000 items for students.

Some of the donated items include pencils, markers, glue sticks, and backpacks.

Spectrum unloaded the truck full of supplies at the elementary school Thursday morning.

“Everything that you guys are doing, all the supplies here, will go very far because we already have a lot of families that are already requesting help” said Briana Garcia, the school’s principal. “You guys being able to give this to us makes a very big difference for us, so we really appreciate that.”

Individual Spectrum employees donated supplies or donated funds to help the project reach its goal.

“Of all the charitable work that we do, the most participation I’ve ever seen has been in this event,” said Spectrum Vice President of Customer Operations Matt Cohen. “Everyone from all walks of life in our centers and our sites and our units contributed in meaningful ways.”
