CENTRAL TEXAS — The school year has already started for many students but there are still more getting ready to hit the books.

So far, students in Bastrop, Hays County, Round Rock, Leander, Pflugerville, and Burnet County are already back. Austin students return to class on Tuesday and San Marcos schools reopen on the 26th. 

Tuesday and Wednesday, AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz will be visiting classrooms to welcome the kids back. 

 

 

Additionally, four AISD schools will be starting off with new names:

  • John T. Allan Facility is now the Anita Ferrales Coy Facility
  • Zachary T. Fulmore Middle School is now Sarah B. Lively Middle School
  • Sidney Lanier Early College High School is now Juan Navarro Early College High School
  • John H. Reagan Early College High School is now Northeast Early College High School
